The Bethlehem Soccer Club (the “BSC”) is once again changing the current policy regarding the wearing of masks while at the Soccerplex.  The BSC issued a modification to the mask policy last week on Tuesday, June 1st.  Since the announcement, the CDYSL and New York State has updated their policies.

As a result, the BSC will be adopting the following changes:

  • Academy / Travel Players
    • The BSC will be adopting the rule changes that were adopted by the CDYSL as detailed below:

CDYSL Updated Mask Policy effective June 4, 2021

Effective Immediately, unless required by local ordinances or facility restrictions, spectators, referees, and players on the field will no longer be required to wear a mask for CDYSL league games.  Coaches and players on the bench are still required to wear a mask during CDYSL league games.  It is the responsibility of the travelling team to contact the home team to verify any restrictions that may be in place at the home team's venue.  It is recommended that all players keep a mask with them at all times to be on the safe side.

  • Additionally, players participating in the Academy Program are no longer required to wear masks while participating in training sessions.
  • Recreation Players
    • Players are no longer required to wear masks while participating in soccer activities.
  • Please Note:  While the BSC is no longer requiring players to wear masks, we encourage anyone who wishes to continue to wear masks to do so.

The BSC will continue the following policies:

  • Limit of two (2) spectators per player for the remainder of the seasons.
  • The Pre-practice and Pre-game COVID Screening must be completed on the day of the practice/game prior to arriving at the practice/game. The health screenings can be found here.

6-1-2021 - Now out of date.

The Bethlehem Soccer Club (the “BSC”) is changing the current policy regarding the wearing of masks while at the Soccerplex.  The BSC will adopt the recent guidelines released by the CDC and adopted by New York State.

Individuals, including players, who are fully vaccinated are not required to wear masks while at the Soccerplex.  Please note that all individuals, including players, who are not fully vaccinated are still required to wear masks while at the BSC Soccerplex, except children between the ages of two (2) and five (5) shall be encouraged to wear masks but shall not be required to wear the same.

Please note:   Players and coaches that are fully vaccinated participating in the Academy Program / Travel Soccer are still required to wear masks during games.  This is a league mandate and has not changed at this time.  Please know that the league will be meeting this Thursday evening to discuss this policy, and we will provide an update to this policy if any requirements change.

We understand the weather is getting warmer and the children will need more frequent mask breaks during sessions.  Coaches for both Academy and Recreation will continue to provide these opportunities for the players.

The BSC will continue the following policies:

  • Limit of two (2) spectators per player for the remainder of the seasons.
  • The Pre-practice and Pre-game COVID Screening must be completed on the day of the practice / game prior to arriving at the practice/game. The screening forms can be found on our website here.

Additionally, coaches and staff will be allowed to remove their masks provided they show proof of immunization.
